London 2012 Mascots

Client: London Organising Committee of the Olympic & Paralympic Games

Crystal CG has animated the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic mascots, Wenlock and Mandeville. Working from supplied storyboards, Crystal CG modelled and animated these two 4 minute broadcast quality animations. The first of which, ‘Over the rainbow’, introduces the pair and shows their genesis from the same materials as London’s Olympic stadium. The second animation, ‘Adventures on a Rainbow’, continues the story and brings to life their journey to the Olympic Games.

Over the coming months new animations will see the duo spreading more of the spirit of the games, before meeting again at the opening ceremony. These will be the first of many Olympic-related projects in the lead up to the London 2012 Games where Crystal CG will be responsible for both the animation and creative management of the visual experience.
