VW Shanghai approached Crystal CG in early 2011 with a requirement to develop a new app for their forthcoming Passat Car launch. VW were looking to Crystal to develop an iPhone and iPad App that would allow users to fully interact with the new Passat, not only exploring its new features but also allowing users to learn more about the history of the car. Along with the apps, Crystal also worked with VW to produce an interactive promotional ad campaign that would allow users to scan bar codes and download the latest Passat images and share with friends through social networking sites. Crystal’s role in this campaign also lead to Crystal creating digital content for the official car launch in Shanghai in May.
