East Wind Rain

The plight and despair of the Pacific World War have been brought to life by Crystal CG in a major motion picture East Wind Rain.

Set in Shanghai in the weeks leading up to the start of the conflict, one of the biggest obstacles for the production was depicting 1930’s Shanghai, which has changed beyond recognition. Yet by taking real locations, and relying on period photos and archive material our team were able to recreate the city being torn apart by conflict.

Crystal CG’s exceptional ability to visualise the impossible, has created scenes so realistic the audience accepts the virtual scenes as reality. The magic of the work isn’t obvious until the layers are stripped away to reveal the component parts. Be it the hairs on a single mouse to an entire city’s vista, the highest level of skill was required to create believable footage that continues the film’s narrative.
